HI! I’M SAM.
In early 2023 I wrapped up a 13 year tenure at Studio on Fire, a bustling design and impression-based printing studio. I was with the business as it grew from 6 to 36 people, first as designer and eventually as creative manager. My role encompassed many areas over the years including pre-press, client services, and HR; but the thing I loved most was getting to design with a team of talented folks.
I’m currently taking time to pursue some artistic interests (quilting! stained glass! digital illustration! painting! rug tufting!) and the occasional freelance project while I figure out what’s next career-wise.
A former AIGA Minnesota board member and adjunct faculty at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, I am passionate about connecting with and strengthening the design community.
When not frolicking in the world of design you can find me snuggling with my dogs, sewing my latest quilt, and rewatching TV shows I’ve already seen dozens of times.
